Defensible Space

For defensible space information, please e-mail dspace@truckeefire.org

Creating defensible space around your home is a vital step in wildfire safety. This includes removing vegetation, chipping, tree trimming or removal, vegetation disposal and other similar work. Removing and disposing of vegetation can reduce the likelihood of your house, or your neighbors house, burning down during a wildland fire.

GENERAL DEFENSIBLE SPACE INSPECTIONS:

*Truckee Fire will continue to support requested inspections during the winter, but there may be limited staff capacity. Snow can also pose a challenge to complete a comprehensive inspection.

Please use the designated button below to schedule a FREE general defensible space inspection. A Truckee Fire Inspector will be scheduled to meet onsite to inspect your home or vacant lot.
