The Environmental Impact Report

This impact to fire protection service from the proposed development in the Martis Valley was predicted in the environmental impact report that was required to approve the proposed land use. The EIR finds significant impacts to fire protection services from the proposed land use and directs that these impacts be mitigated by implementation of Martis Valley Community Plan Policy 6.H.3.

Martis Valley Community Plan Policy 6.H.3 states, “The County shall require new development to develop or fund fire protection facilities, personnel, and operations and maintenance that, at a minimum, maintain the above service level standards.”

Placer County has not implemented this policy of the community plan. This fails to mitigate impacts to Truckee Fire which were anticipated in the EIR and are currently occurring.
