plan review submittal: Residential/Commercial/Generator/Solar

 

The plan review process will capture plan review fees upon submittal, so please be prepared to provide your payment information.

DO NOT USE FOR:

STEPS BEFORE YOU GET STARTED:

    • All plans and documents must be submitted in PDF format.

    • Property lines and adjacent streets or roads

    • Total acreage or square footage of the parcel

    • Footprint/outline of all structures including garages, shops, barns, etc.

    • Driveway plan view showing width, length, turnaround radius

    • Driveway profile showing the percentage of grade from the access road, to the structure

    • All floors and rooms shown with total dwelling square footage

    • Garage, shop or other accessory buildings shown with square footage

    • Defensible Space notes

    • The Truckee Fire Protection District has adopted and amended the 2022 California Fire Code into the 01-2022 Ordinance.

    • The plan review fee will be due upon submittal. Please have your credit or debit card ready for payment.

    • Additional plan review may be incurred based on project complexity after the plan check is complete.

    • Plans are reviewed and processed during normal business hours, Monday-Friday.

    • Approximate time for reviewing plans is 7 to 14 business days (excluding holidays).

 

FIRE SPRINKLER & FIRE ALARM PLAN SUBMITTAL:

    • All new or modified commercial projects require fire sprinkler and fire alarm plans to be submitted for review and approval.

    • Plans need to be submitted to the District’s third-party contractor, Engineered Fire Systems, Inc., for review and scheduled inspections.

    • Permits within the Town of Truckee will be issued by the Town of Truckee Building and Safety Division.

  • Town of Truckee

    Placer County

    • Plan review and inspection of fire sprinkler projects must be submitted to the District’s third-party contractor, Engineered Fire Systems, Inc.

    • Permits are issued by Placer County.

    Nevada County

    • Plan review and inspection of fire sprinkler projects must be submitted to Nevada County Building Department.

    • Permits are issued by Nevada County.

    • Plans must be submitted to Truckee Fire Protection District using the Project Application Form at the top of this page, as well as, to the appropriate County Community Development Resource Agency.

COMMERCIAL PROJECTS:

  • All plans submitted for buildings, tenant improvements and commercial hood suppression systems, must be submitted to Truckee Fire Protection District using the Project Application Form for review and approval.
