Wildfire researchers at the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) have spent years researching wildfire through both field and lab studies. Now, in collaboration with other wildfire community experts, IBHS has identified the mitigation actions critical to reducing your wildfire risk.
Wildfire Prepared Home™ was developed to help you protect your home from wildfire. Science has demonstrated that, when applied together, these specific actions reduce the wildfire risk to your home and property.
Even if your community members aren’t ready to apply for a designation, completing ANY of the mitigations identified within the program will improve the compliance and wildfire resiliency of their home.
